El futuro de la educación en Colombia

Abstract

La calidad del sistema educativo de un país es uno de los determinantes principales de su nivel de desarrollo económico. La educación no solo incide en la productividad del capital humano, sino en las capacidades de desarrollo personal y las oportunidades de movilidad social. Por eso, si Colombia quiere plantear una estrategia de largo plazo para mejorar sustancialmente el bienestar de su población y la competitividad de su aparato productivo, requiere apostar a su sistema educativo, tanto en los niveles de formación inicial, básica y media, como en Educación Superior y formación para el trabajo. En este capítulo se analizan los retos y se plantean estrategias para lograrlo, considerando la cobertura, la calidad y la pertinencia de los niveles educativos, y evidenciando los retos urgentes de una educación virtual más efectiva.
