Abstract

Este articulo estudia la duración del desempleo en Colombia en el ano 2006 como un indicador de electividad de los canales de búsqueda de empleo. Se utiliza información de Encuesta Continua de hogares (ECH) del segundo trimestre del ano 2006. Se estiman modelos paramétricos (Weibull de riesgos proporcionales) y no paramétricos (Kaplan- Meier) de duración. Se concluye que la duración del desempleo está altamente influenciada por el canal de búsqueda que utilizaron los empleados para conseguir empleo y que utilizan los desocupados para buscarlo. Los canales más formales mostraron tener una mayor efectividad.
