Bilingüismo en Colombia

Abstract

Este estudio analiza el bilinguismo español-ingles en el sector educativo colombiano, utilizando el Marco Común Europeo de Referencia para Lenguas como medida indicativa del dominio de esta lengua extranjera. Los resultados demuestran que Colombia es un país con un bajo nivel de ingles, lo cual puede constatarse al cuantificar la proporción de estudiantes y docentes en niveles relacionados con un bajo dominio del idioma, y en los puntajes obtenidos por los colombianos en exámenes internacionales que miden el desarrollo de las distintas competencias linguísticas. Esta situación es persistente, ya que la evolución reciente del desempeño de los estudiantes en las pruebas de ingles estandarizadas se ha caracterizado por la ausencia de avances significativos. Ello refleja la poca factibilidad en el cumplimiento de las metas relacionadas con el tema de bilinguismo en Colombia, propuestas por el Ministerio de Educación Nacional hacia 2019, razón por la cual se recomienda ajustarlas.
