Commerce de marchandises entre le Canada et l’Union européenne : un état des lieux avant l’AÉCG

Abstract

Le Canada et l’Union européenne (UE) s’apprêtent à ratifier un accord de commerce que l’on peut qualifier d’historique. Le Canada sera la seule économie au monde à avoir un accès privilégié aux deux premières économies mondiales représentant près de 45 % du PIB mondial : l’UE et les États-Unis. L’Accord économique et commercial global (AÉCG) est souvent défini comme un accord de deuxième génération, c’est à dire s’intéressant davantage à la mise en place de mécanismes de collaboration, plutôt qu’un simple accord de libre-échange. Il rapprochera les économies canadienne et québécoise de celle de l’UE. L’élimination quasi-totale des barrières tarifaires et l’abaissement significatif des barrières non tarifaires augmenteront la compétitivité des entreprises canadiennes en Europe. Ce livre s’adresse aux chercheurs, aux gestionnaires et aux décideurs politiques qui s’intéressent au profil commercial du Canada et du Québec avec l’Union européenne à l’heure de l’AÉCG.
