Schlüsselindikatoren zu Klimawandel und Energiewirtschaft 2019. Sonderthema: Klimaschutz, Ressourcenproduktivität und das Konzept der Kreislaufwirtschaft

Abstract

Die reale Wirtschaftsleistung (+3%) und der Bruttoinlandsverbrauch an Energie (+2%) entwickelten sich 2017 ähnlich, zwischen der Entwicklung von Energieverbrauch und Wirtschaftsleistung konnte jedoch eine relative Entkoppelung erzielt werden. Die Zunahme der Treibhausgasemissionen (+3,3%) lag hingegen über dem Wirtschaftswachstum. Dies bedeutet eine Verfestigung der Emissionsintensität der österreichischen Wirtschaft. Der 2005 eingeleitete rückläufige Trend konnte somit nicht wiederaufgenommen werden. Dies war auf den Anstieg der Emissionen im Emissionshandelsbereich (+5,2%) zurückzuführen, insbesondere die CO2-Emissionen der Industrie wuchsen kräftig (+4,8%), aber auch in der Energiewirtschaft (+6%) und im Verkehrssektor (+3,2%) nahmen die Emissionen zu. In einem Sonderthema befasst sich der vorliegende Bericht mit der Ressourcenintensität und dem potentiellen Beitrag einer Kreislaufwirtschaft zur Senkung von Treibhausgasemissionen.
