Abstract

This study employs Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) to explore the dynamics of e-waste management within the circular economy framework in Taiwan. It investigates how various factors such as risk perception, learning ability, source reduction, and practical actions influence the effectiveness of e-waste management and stakeholders’ willingness to pay for improved practices. The research reveals that while stakeholders recognize the importance of effective e-waste management, their financial commitment varies, with educational and risk perception factors playing significant roles in shaping these behaviors. The study highlights the necessity for an integrated approach that combines policy enforcement, educational initiatives, and economic incentives to enhance e-waste management practices effectively. By detailing the interdependencies between educational, economic, and behavioral factors, the findings provide valuable insights for policymakers and industry leaders to refine strategies that promote the sustainability of e-waste management within the circular economy. This research underscores the complexity of e-waste management and demonstrates the critical need for a multifaceted strategy that aligns environmental goals with economic and social realities.
