Il modello di Data Envelopment Analysis per la stima dell?efficienza nel settore idrico e alcuni risultati empirici in tema di privatizzazione

Abstract

Il settore idrico ? tipicamente caratterizzato da situazioni di monopolio naturale. Questo aspetto ? potenzialmente in grado di determinare un minor impegno nella ricerca di incrementi nei livelli di efficienza aziendale. Sono stati quindi svolti, in numerosi paesi, molti studi tesi ad individuare metodologie di misurazione dell?efficienza nel settore idrico e ad implementare tali metodologie. Inoltre molti studi hanno affrontato la questione pi? specifica dell?attitudine della propriet? privata a sollecitare, nel settore idrico, livelli di efficienza maggiore rispetto alla propriet? pubblica. Questo lavoro passa in rassegna i principali contributi empirici svolti su tale questione nei maggiori paesi stranieri.
