La covid-19 y el cambio estructural en la movilidad de ingresos en los sectores formal e informal en Nuevo León

Abstract

Estudiamos la relación entre la COVID-19 y la movilidad de ingresos de los trabajadores formales e informales del Estado de Nuevo León. Se analizan la dirección y la magnitud del efecto de la COVID-19 en la movilidad de ingresos, y la existencia de un cambio estructural a partir del tercer trimestre de 2020 en dicha movilidad para los trabajadores de ambos sectores en la postpandemia. Empleamos datos de un pseudo-panel construido con la Encuesta Nacional de Ocupación y Empleo (2005-2022). En primer lugar, encontramos una disminución significativa en la movilidad social de ingresos en el sector formal atribuible a la pandemia, mientras que en el sector informal la disminución fue de menor magnitud, pero no significativa. En segundo lugar, las pruebas de cambio estructural sugieren que la COVID-19 generó un cambio permanente en la movilidad de ingresos de la población ocupada.
