Digital inclusive finance, digital transformation, and the sustainable development of micro and small enterprises

Abstract

Drawing on data from 2011 to 2023 for Chinese A-share listed companies, this paper examines how digital inclusive finance (DIF) and digital transformation (DIGI) shape sustainable development (SusDev) of micro and small enterprises (MSEs). The analysis confirms that DIF enhances SusDev, with DIGI serving as a key mediating channel, and highlights ownership-based differences in policy effectiveness. The study extends existing theoretical frameworks and provides actionable insights for policymakers seeking to foster inclusive digital transformation and sustainable enterprise growth.
