Application of blockchain technology, financial deepening, and internal income distribution within enterprises

Abstract

This study uses listed companies in China from 2011 to 2023 as the research sample to explore the relationship between the application of blockchain technology, financial deepening, and internal income distribution within enterprises. The empirical analysis results indicate that financial deepening has a significant positive effect on the fairness of internal income distribution in companies. Further heterogeneity analysis reveals that the promoting effect of financial deepening on the fairness of internal income distribution varies significantly among companies in different financial agglomeration regions and those with different levels of equity concentration. Additionally, the application of blockchain technology plays a significant positive moderating role between financial deepening and the fairness of internal income distribution, with this moderating effect exhibiting heterogeneity across companies with varying levels of innovation input. The conclusions of this study provide new insights for understanding the complex relationship between financial deepening and internal income distribution in enterprises, highlighting the important role of blockchain technology in this context.
