Abstract

Using fixed-effects, moderation-effect, and threshold effect models on panel data from 293 prefecture-level Chinese from 2007 to 2023, the impact and underlying mechanisms of financial support on the development of urban sports infrastructure was analyzed in this study. The results indicate that financial support significantly promotes the development of urban sports infrastructure, and the level of urbanization of the city in terms of regional population size exhibits a threshold effect and moderates this relationship significantly.
