Does globalized R&D promote corporate innovation?

Abstract

This paper is based on data from Chinese A-share listed companies from 2010 to 2022, exploring the relationship between R&D globalization and corporate innovation. The research results indicate that R&D globalization contributes to enhancing corporate innovation capabilities; collaboration between companies and other financial institutions during the year can positively moderate the effect of R&D globalization on promoting innovation; moreover, the size of the enterprise also plays a moderating role in this enhancement effect. Further analysis reveals that the promoting effect of R&D globalization exhibits significant heterogeneity across different states of financial institution collaboration and varying enterprise sizes.
