Abstract

•Few evidence-based substance use prevention programs exist for LGBQ populations.•LGB organizations benefit from evaluation capacity building initiatives.•Evaluators working with LGBQ programs face unique challenges.•Evaluators should possess basic evaluation skills and LGBQ cultural competence.
