Abstract

•Proposes the concept of wounded destinations to rethink tourism-related harms•Shows how tourism creates material, affective, and mnemonic forms of woundedness•Illustrates how acknowledging woundedness can reshape tourism toward fairness and care•Outlines rules against “wound-washing” to link recognition with real material repair
