El consumo privado en America Latina, 1980-2002

Abstract

Se contempla en este trabajo el nivel de consumo privado que, a comienzos del siglo XXI, tienen los países latino-americanos; además de analizar la evolución del consumo y el crecimiento de los precios se estudian los grupos de bienes y servicios en que el gasto es más importante. Se constata que el nivel de consumo real per capita medio en la zona es muy bajo, que tan sólo seis países están por encima de ese nivel medio, y que, al igual que ocurre en los países de la OCDE, el sector que presenta una mas clara evolución creciente de su consumo es el de transporte y comunicaciones.
