DICE – eine Datenbank von institutionellen Regelungen im internationalen Vergleich

Abstract

Regulierungen der öffentlichen Hand werden immer mehr zum entscheidenden Standortfaktor für Investitionen und wirtschaftliches Wachstum. Dem Defizit an vergleichbaren und analytisch konzipierten Informationen zu den institutionellen Regulierungen in der Europäischen Union und ihren Mitgliedstaaten wollte das ifo Institut durch den stufenweisen Auf- und Ausbau einer Datenbank begegnen. Seit dem Jahr 2001 werden zahlreiche Informationen gesammelt, aufbereitet – als Tabellen, Graphiken oder Kurzberichte – und dem Nutzer über das Internet unentgeltlich in der Datenbank DICE (Database for Institutional Comparisons in Europe) zur Verfügung gestellt. Gegenwärtig umfasst DICE über 2 200 Einträge zu ca. 8 000 Variablen. Rückmeldungen zeigen, dass die Strategie bislang erfolgreich war.
