Abstract

The aim of this paper is to highlight the practical modality of the Territorial Governance in the local agrifood chains. We identify the function and the variety of the institutional mechanisms at the source of the local cooperation. In this objective we use the theoretical and empirical advances of the institutional economics and we integrate the historical perspective to understand the process by which the agreements adapt to the evolution of the space where they raise and develop (North, 1990; Greif, 2005). After a discussion on the principle of the actors game of the Evolutionary Economic Geography (Boschma and Frenken, 2011), we emphasizes the mechanisms used to specify and enforce the agreements (Maze and Menard, 2010). Our lecture of the territorial governance insist on the principle of institutions devoted to the reduction of uncertainty. This research is rooted in the reinterpretation of the vineyard-merchant relations inside a particularly well-developed territorial system endowed with a complex governance, the Champagne.
