L’impatto del covid-19 sul mercato del lavoro regionale in Italia: un indicatore sintetico

Abstract

The Covid 19 epidemic has severely affected the economy and the labor market. To carry out an accurate analysis of the impacts, it is necessary to start from some indicators that describe the trend of the labor market and in more detail the employment rate, the unemployment rate and the activity rate broken down by gender in 2019 and 2020. To make the situation clearer, it seems appropriate to construct a com-posite indicator (using the Fair and Sustainable Wellbeing methodology) that measures the territorial gaps at the employment level. Results show that the negative impact of the Covid 19 on the labour market was strong in all Italian regions, but it was strongest on the weak segments of the Italian labour market: the southern labour market and the female labour market.
