Abstract

O presente artigo visa contribuir para a discussão sobre alternativas para o desenvolvimento sustentável de plataformas supramunicipais, que articulam subunidades espaciais, ao nível da cidade. Com este propósito, exploramos uma taxonomia do ciclo de vida espacial, para revelar a necessidade de criar uma plataforma institucional entre o governo, a indústria e as instituições de ensino superior, ao nível da Cidade-região, a qual pode integrar unidades espaciais diversificadas com baixa densidade, tal como sucede na unidade territorial da Cova da Beira.
