This paper reports the results of an attempt to gather some information about the characteristics of non-respondents and of non-response bias on the British Crime Survey (BCS). Primarily, the paper evaluates the study's success at collecting useful information in an efficient manner and summarises the substantive findings of the study, in the form of estimates of non-response bias. The final section of the paper draws some conclusions and outlines potential implications for future rounds of the BCS.
