Una resena de los efectos del Tratado de Libre Comercio entre Colombia y Estados Unidos

Abstract

En la evaluación de políticas arancelarias se han utilizado ampliamente los modelos de equilibrio general computable como herramienta de análisis para ver los posibles efectos sobre la economía. Aquí se realiza una resena de las diferentes evaluaciones realizadas al tratado de libre comercio con Estados Unidos, para analizar las ventajas, desventajas y alternativas de las diferentes alternativa de modelación que pueden ser utilizadas con este tipo de herramienta. Se encuentra que la diversidad de los resultados, en la evaluación de los posibles efectos del TLC con Estados Unidos, provienen de tres fuentes: la estructura del modelo, las elasticidades Armington y la agregación sectorial.
