Modèles et stratégies de développement des petites économies insulaires. Revue de la littérature et nouveaux paradigmes

Abstract

A partir des années 1960, une importante littérature théorique et empirique a été consacrée à l’analyse de la croissance et du développement des petites économies insulaires (PEI). Cette revue de la littérature analyse les principales approches (en termes de convergence, de croissance endogène ou encore les approches structuralistes) et les différents modèles qui en découlent et qui ont inspiré les politiques publiques menées sans de nombreuses petites économies insulaires. Enfin, à la lumière des faits stylisés observés au cours des dernièresdécennies et des développements récents de la théorie économique, l’article interroge certains paradigmes qui sous-tendent ces travaux. Au sein de l’ensemble des petites économiesinsulaires, ce travail accorde une place particulière aux collectivités de l’Outre-mer français.
