Incompatibilidade Escolaridade-Ocupação e Salários: Evidências de uma Empresa Industrial Brasileira

Abstract

As duas últimas décadas forneceram uma vasta literatura empírica sobre a incompatibilidade escolaridade-ocupação e salários. Evidências sobre a incidência de over e under-education são disponíveis para vários países desenvolvidos em diferentes períodos de tempo. Evidências de retornos sobre ORU (over-education, educação requerida e under-education) também são amplamente disponíveis para estes países. Uma segunda onda de trabalhos empíricos tem focado sobre questões ainda pouco exploradas na literatura: (1) Seriam os retornos sobre ORU um firm wage effect?; (2) Seriam os retornos sobre ORU ainda significativos após o controle da heterogeneidade não observada dos trabalhadores?; (3) Overeducation decorre de um investimento deliberado dos trabalhadores em suas carreiras? O objetivo deste trabalho é fornecer algumas evidências para as questões acima mencionadas utilizando informações individuais de trabalhadores empregados em uma grande empresa industrial brasileira.
