Die Spieltheorie als Instrument der Gesellschaftsforschung

Abstract

Die vielfach existierenden Vorbehalte gegenüber spieltheoretischen Betrachtungen in der Gesellschaftsforschung relativieren sich durch die These, daß die Spieltheorie nur als Instrument zur Präzisierung einer theoretischen Vorstellung anzusehen ist. Die Präzisierungsleistung besteht in der Anwendung eines Lösungskonzepts auf eine logische Struktur interdependenter Verhaltensweisen. Damit wird zum Beispiel im Rahmen der Theorie rationaler Entscheidungen die Gleichgewichtsmenge einer gegebenen strategischen Entscheidungsverflechtung bestimmt. Anhand der evolutionären Spieltheorie wird erläutert, daß die spieltheoretische Behandlung interdependenter Verhaltensweisen keineswegs auf Basis einer Theorie des Rationalverhaltens erfolgen muß. Jedoch mißt sich in deren Kontext die Angemessenheit einer spieltheoretischen Analyse daran, ob präskriptive oder deskriptive Verhaltenserklärungen aufgestellt werden, wobei letztere nur dann empirische Evidenz beanspruchen können, wenn die Vorhersagen des Entscheidungsverhaltens überprüfbar sind.
