Abstract

Die „gesellschaftliche Verantwortung der Unternehmen“ ist zentrales Thema des öffentlichen und zunehmend auch des wissenschaftlichen Diskurses. M. Friedmans bekanntes Diktum von 1970: „The social responsibility of business is to increase its profits“1, hat die Diskussion nicht beenden können. Wir haben zwischenzeitlich gelernt, dass von einer Vollständigkeit der Verträge und gesetzlichen Rahmenbedingungen, die Friedman offensichtlich unterstellte, keine Rede sein kann – erst recht nicht unter den Bedingungen der Globalisierung, die der Diskussion um die „gesellschaftliche Verantwortung der Unternehmen“ folgerichtig einen neuen Schub gegeben hat…
