Der Rohstoffverbrauch in Europa nimmt ab

Abstract

Der sparsame Umgang mit Rohstoffen wird aus unterschiedlichen Gründen und auf verschiedenen Ebenen vorangetrieben. Unternehmen sehen hier eine Möglichkeit zur Kosteneinsparung und zur Sicherung ihrer Rohstoffversorgung (Biebeler, 2014; Bardt/Kempermann/Lichtblau, 2013). Auch die Bundesregierung hat in ihrer Nachhaltigkeitsstrategie und dem Deutschen Ressourceneffizienzprogramm das Ziel gesetzt, die Ressourcenproduktivität zu steigern (BMUB, 2016; Bundesregierung, 2018). Als Gründe für die Erhöhung der Ressourceneffizienz auf gesamtwirtschaftlicher Ebene werden neben möglichen Kosteneinsparungen typischerweise auch Umwelt- und Klimaschutzgründe, die Endlichkeit der Rohstoffe und negative soziale und ökologische Folgen des Bergbaus in den Abbauländern genannt.
