Schuldnerberatung für ältere Menschen

Abstract

Altersarmut ist für viele Menschen Realität. In der Schuldenberatung ergeben sich durch das hohe Alter dieser Zielgruppe besondere Anforderungen an die Beratungsstellen. Im aktuellen iff-Überschuldungsradar schreibt die Schulden- und Insolvenzberaterin Maike Cohrs über den Umgang mit älteren Menschen in der Beratung. Der Weg in die Schuldenberatung ist dann leider auch nicht immer selbstverständlich. Die Zielgruppe ist sich meist nicht über die Beratungsmöglichkeiten bewusst oder die Hemmschwelle ist zu groß. Oft werden Dritte auf die desolate Situation aufmerksam und stellen Kontakt zu den Beratungsstellen her. In vielen Städten und Kommunen erfolgt der Verweis an die Schuldnerberatung jedoch nur selten.
