Lohnunterschiede von Frauen und Männern in Österreich von 2011 bis 2024

Abstract

Diese Analyse basiert auf Mikrozensusdaten und untersucht die Entwicklung der geschlechtsspezifischen Lohnunterschiede von unselbständig Beschäftigten in Österreich. Es zeigt sich ein deutlicher Rückgang des unbereinigten Unterschieds im durchschnittlichen Bruttostundenlohn der 20- bis 59-Jährigen von 19,6% im Jahr 2011 auf 12,6% im Jahr 2024. Der bereinigte Lohnunterschied, der für Unterschiede in der Bildung und der Berufserfahrung sowie bei horizontaler und vertikaler Segregation kontrolliert, sank zwischen 2011 und 2012 und blieb anschließend von 2012 bis 2024 mit rund 6,4% weitgehend stabil. Eine detaillierte Untersuchung legt nahe, dass der Rückgang sowohl des erklärten als auch des unerklärten Lohnunterschieds überwiegend mit einer Angleichung der Merkmale zusammenhängt. Der Rückgang des unbereinigten wie auch des bereinigten Lohnunterschieds ist dabei vor allem in der Altersgruppe der 20- bis 39-Jährigen ausgeprägt, bei den ab 40-Jährigen zeigt sich ein deutlich schwächerer Rückgang.
