Abstract

Bagi mahasiswa yang studi di bidang pariwisata ilmu statistik dipandang sebagai bagian yang tidak diminati, karena banyaknya angka, atau data kuantitatif yang bagi mereka membosankan. Mahasiswa pariwisata cenderung senang dengan ilmu-ilmu sosial yang berkaitan dengan kehidupan sosial masyarakat yang berhubungan dengan fenomena hiburan dan budaya. Oleh sebab itu hal-hal yang berhubungan dengan angka sering dihindarkan. Paradigman itu tidak semuanya benar, sebagai seorang calon sarjana tentunya harus mampu mengkonstruksi berbagai fenomena sosial baik secara kualitatif maupun kuantitatif, oleh sebab itu peran statistik dalam dunia pariwisata perlu mendapatkan perhatian. Dengan senantiasa memanjatkan puji syukur ke hadirat Tuhan Yang Maha Esa penyusunan buku Statistika Hospitalitas dapat terselesaikan. Buku Statistik Hospitalitas ini penuh dengan kesederhanaan, karena gagasan penyusunan buku ini berawal dari diktat kuliah dan pengalaman penulis selama mengajar. Sesuai dengan judulnya, buku ini memberikan contoh-contoh soal dan kajian tentang statistik yang berorientasi pada masalah-masalah pariwisata, baik bidang perhotelan, destinasi wisata maupun bidang manajemen perjalanan wisata.
