IMK Inflationsmonitor - Inflation steigt im Juli 2026 auf 2,8 %, Kraftstoffpreise dominieren, Nahrungsmittelteuerung gering

Abstract

Die Inflationsrate in Deutschland ist im Juli 2026 um 0,5 Prozentpunkte auf 2,8 % gestiegen. Ausschlaggebend war die höhere Teuerung bei Kraftstoffen durch das Ende des Tankrabatts und kriegsbedingt gestiegene Raffineriemargen. Der Preisauftrieb bei Nahrungsmitteln blieb schwach und die Kernrate ohne Nahrungsmittel, Alkohol und Tabak verharrte bei 2,4 %. Die HVPI-Inflation lag mit 2,8 % ebenfalls deutlich höher als zuvor und dabei etwas niedriger als im Euroraum insgesamt. Die kräftigere Teuerung bei den Kraftstoffpreisen (23,0 % nach 11,3 % im Juni 2026) wirkte sich bei Familien mit geringen und mittleren Einkommen am stärksten aus. Die EZB hat auf ihrer Juli-Sitzung zu Recht besonnenere Töne angeschlagen als nach der Zinsentscheidung im Juni 2026. Wie in den Vormonaten deuten auch die Juli-Zahlen nicht darauf hin, dass der Energiepreisschock einen breiteren Preisauftrieb in der Wirtschaft auslöst. So ist der Anstieg der Inflation von 1,8 % im Dezember 2025 auf 2,8 % im Juli 2026 allein dem massiven Preisanstieg bei Kraftstoffen und Heizöl geschuldet. Ähnliches gilt bisher auch für den Euroraum insgesamt. Zinserhöhungen sind nicht nur ein stumpfes Instrument gegen Preisschocks; es wäre auch widersinnig, wenn die Regierungen erhebliche öffentliche Mittel zur Förderung der schwachen Investitionstätigkeit einsetzen, während die EZB die Investitionen zugleich über höhere Finanzierungskosten bremst.
