Abstract

Working paper on the role of small scale industry within the iron and steel industry in India - outlines industrial development and the emergence of small steel plants; notes obstacles faced; makes a comparison of small and large size of enterprise as regards raw materials, processing, market, location of industry, production capacity, investment, and labour demand. Bibliography, statistical tables.
