Abstract

Working paper on the impact of microelectronics technological change on employment in the motor vehicle industry of Italy - discusses industrial structure and trends; based on case studies of Fiat and Alfa Romeo, examines effects of industrial robots, numerical control machine tools and changes in work organization on redundancy and unemployment of skilled workers. References, statistical tables.
