Macroeconomía Y Conciliación Familiar: El Impacto Económico De Los Jardines Infantiles

Abstract

En esta investigación estudiamos los efectos agregados de la conciliación familiar, medido a través, del efecto de los jardines infantiles. Tomamos como caso el de Chile, que, a pesar de haber implementado importantes reformas modernizadoras en la economía, aún registra tasas bajas de participación femenina. Usando un modelo macro estándar, estimado econométricamente, se muestra que hay importantes ganancias en aumentar los servicios de jardines infantiles a través de la productividad més que por un aumento de la oferta laboral, punto que remarca la literatura de conciliacién trabajo y familiar más que la literatura macro tradicional. La segunda contribución es que los cambios en la composición del financiamiento entre trabajadores y empresas se diluyen en la economía a nivel agregado. Así, la principal consecuencia de política económica para otras economías con bajas tasas de participación femenina es que aumentar los niveles de conciliación trabajo y familia, y por tanto la productividad, tienen importantes efectos positivos a nivel macroeconómico sin que los costos de su financiamiento compensen los beneficios.
