Betriebsgründungen in Nordrhein-Westfalen

Abstract

"Nordrhein-Westfalen verfügt im Vergleich zu anderen deutschen Flächenländern über viele verdichtete und hoch verdichtete Regionen. Die Städte entlang der 'Rheinschiene' wie auch des Ruhrgebiets weisen einen hohen Zentralitätsgrad auf. Dies sollten gute Voraussetzungen für Unternehmensgründungen und insbesondere Gründungen in innovativen und wissensintensiven Bereichen sein. Diesen eigentlich guten Voraussetzungen zum Trotz, werden aber in Nordrhein-Westfalen deutlich weniger Betriebe gegründet als im Bundesdurchschnitt. Allerdings existieren innerhalb des Landes erhebliche regionale Unterschiede. Vor allem im Ruhrgebiet werden vergleichsweise wenige Betriebe gegründet, während die Regionen entlang der Rheinschiene viel besser dastehen und nicht nur in Nordrhein-Westfalen, sondern auch im Bundesdurchschnitt, zur Spitzengruppe zählen. Aus diesen Ergebnissen folgt, dass die Förderung von Gründungen weiterhin notwendig ist, nicht zuletzt auch um den strukturellen Wandel zu stärken und die mittelständische Basis im traditionell von Großbetrieben dominierten Nordrhein-Westfalen zu verbreitern."
