Abstract

After a significant decline at the global level following the collapse of the Soviet Union, military spending in the world is increasing again, mainly in the United States, due to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan against international terrorism. In this context, military expenditure is the preferred instrument, along with economic warfare, for coercing another state or preventing it from doing harm. It is a question of developing new weapons and military strategies, but also of analyzing the internal forces within a country that push to increase international tensions to the great political and economic benefit of the military-industrial comp
