Abstract

The link between war and the economy is complex, both being fine and medium. The economy itself is a weapon and war has often been about economic predation. War and economy are sometimes joint products in the search for political and economic power. For Marxist analysis, war is a necessity of survival for capitalism, through imperialist wars and class struggle. War is also seen as a burden, especially in the preparation of military strategies of attack or deterrence. The search for power in international relations is always present, often through the threat of war or military power. The economy, the cause of war, is also a weapon against an adversary dependent on its economic exchange relations.
