Abstract

Depuis les origines de la science économique, les économistes ont traité des questions de guerre et de paix. Mais ces pensées se sont généralement répandues tout au long de leurs œuvres et peu de livres ont été entièrement consacrés à ces thèmes. La grande diversité des analyses économiques concernant la sécurité, la guerre et la paix appellent à la construction d'une classification, entre celles qui considèrent que l'économie et son développement sont des facteurs de paix, qui s'apposent à celles pour lesquelles la puissance des Etats conduit à la fois à la mise en place de politiques internationales et à la politique économique publique, en passant par celles qui considèrent que le capitalisme secrète un militarisme qui exerce un rôle spécifique sur les relations sociales du système global. Pour les libéraux, le libre fonctionnement de l'économie est garantie de la paix dans le monde, pour les autres, la guerre et la menace de guerre au cœur du fonctionnement du système capitaliste.
