América Latina: la política fiscal en los años ochenta

Abstract

Analiza los antecedentes del problema fiscal y las políticas orientadas a reducir el déficit público. Aborda tres conjuntos de variables que explican la intensidad de las dificultades observadas hasta 1985: la propia política fiscal en los años de precrisis, el efecto de los shocks externos de términos de intercambio y de las restricciones al financiamiento externo, y la interacción entre las políticas de ajuste interno y el déficit del sector público.
