Abstract

The objective of this article is to analyse the main factors that Colombian micro and MSMEs are unable to grow and achieve a competitive advantage that will allow them to generate added value. Therefore, the analysis starts from a conceptual perspective and based on a bibliographic analysis of the current state in which they are. According to this review, the difficulty they present is due to lack of financial, digital and educational knowledge that prevents them from developing skills and competencies to face the market as well as the strengthening of institutions such as Bancóldex and Finagro that finance their projects. In this sense, it is proposed the need for an educational reform, programs that consolidate technological and information bases as well as their development and greater budget in Colciencias, an essential institution in the support of the projects of the MSMEs
