Abstract

Dieser Einführungsbeitrag verfolgt drei Ziele: Zunächst werden die Grenzräume Bayerns kurz skizziert. Sodann werden aus institutionell-politischer Perspektive drei Ansätze eingeführt, um die Governance-Strukturen in den Grenzräumen zu reflektieren, namentlich die institutionelle "Ambiguität", Formen der Reterritorialisierung sowie der Passgenauigkeit von Strukturen im Mehrebenensystem ("multi-level mismatch"). Aus funktionaler Perspektive werden Konvergenz, Metropolisierung und Tunneleffekte als wichtige Trends diskutiert. Abschließend werden die Implikationen für die bayerische Landesplanung aufgezeigt.
