Abstract

The precedent of staging events and festivals has a decade-long history, transcending back to the prehistoric era. It provides non-tourism proceedings and theoretical foundations for the management of tourism events. The contemporary state of tourism events, management, and understanding of digital applications invite the inclusion of sub-culture highlighted through social media platforms, electronic and related tools of digital submissions. Concept incorporating the digital cultural events, virtually integrated events, technological utilities, digital tourism events, harmonization of event policies, digital resource structure, and digital compatibility are valuable. The knowledge development and cluster instigation of the events supported the digital improvement and understanding of tourism activities. This paper highlighted the role of the digital phases for the exercise of improving the ongoing tourism events in Pakistan by incorporating the survey method. The participants are approached through an online channel with the responses collected and amalgamated accordingly. It is found that tourism events go beyond the disciplinary boundaries through interdisciplinary and post-disciplinary technological approaches. The digital platforms have enhanced the variety and volume of the tourism related products, marketing and feedback. The study recommends meeting the gaps in existing research and overcoming non-tourism-related events in the digital and technology era, to secure the tourism destinations for extended benefits of the tourism events in Pakistan.
