Bestandsaufnahme zum automotiven Bereich in Österreich. Kurzstudie zur Wertschöpfung und Beschäftigung

Abstract

Der Automotivbereich steht vor tiefgreifenden Veränderungen infolge der Transformation hin zur Elektromobilität. Die Studienlage zur prognostizierten Beschäftigungswirkung des strukturellen Umbruchs zeichnet ein überwiegend negatives Bild, wobei die Effekte nach Branchen differieren. Aktuell ist die Branche in Österreich Arbeitgeber:in für rund 1% der unselbständig Beschäftigten (knapp 40.000 direkt Beschäftigte). Über indirekte und induzierte Wirkungskanäle sind insgesamt über 100.000 Beschäftigte in Österreich mit dem Automotivbereich verbunden. Die Beschäftigung im Automotivsektor ist männerdominiert, mit überdurchschnittlich vielen Arbeitern, Lehrlingen sowie Beschäftigten im Haupterwerbsalter. Die Beschäftigungsverhältnisse sind vergleichsweise stabil, die Fluktuation geringer als in der Sachgütererzeugung insgesamt. Unterstrichen wird die Stabilität der Beschäftigungsbeziehung durch den überdurchschnittlich hohen Anteil an Übergängen in die Pension. Dies deutet darauf hin, dass ein vergleichsweise hoher Anteil der (niedrigen) Fluktuation über natürliche Beschäftigungsabgänge realisiert wird.
