Abstract

Im Laufe des Jahres 2013 zog die Konjunktur in Österreich leicht an. Nach dem Rückgang des BIP im I. Quartal und der Stagnation im II. Quartal ergibt sich für das III. Quartal ein geringfügiger Zuwachs. Insgesamt wird die Wirtschaftsleistung 2013 etwas höher sein als im Vorjahr, erst 2014 wird sich das Wachstum verstärken. Während sich die Beschäftigung trotz der Wachstumsschwäche günstig entwickelte, wird wird sie sich 2014 kaum beleben; bei weiter steigendem Arbeitskräfteangebot wird also auch die Arbeitslosigkeit weiter zunehmen. Aktuell besteht auf dem Arbeitsmarkt ein Ost-West- und Nord-Süd-Gefälle, im Burgenland ist die Situation aber überdurchschnittlich gut. Am höchsten ist die Arbeitslosenquote in Wien und Kärnten mit jeweils über 10%: in Wien wegen der relativ kräftigen Zunahme des Arbeitskräfteangebotes, in Kärnten hingegen wegen des Beschäftigungsrückganges.
