Abstract

Nach einer Phase der Stagnation im 2. Halbjahr 2011 stieg die heimische Wirtschaftsleistung im I. Quartal 2012 wieder leicht. Das reale BIP-Wachstum betrug 0,3% gegenüber dem Vorquartal bzw. 2,0% gegenüber dem I. Quartal 2011. Allerdings dürfte die anhaltende Krise im Euro-Raum die heimischen Entwicklung im weiteren Jahresverlauf dämpfen. Die Expandions der stark exportorientierten Sachgütererzeugung dürfte nach einem guten I. Quartal – mit dem stärksten Wachstum in Oberösterreich, Salzburg und der Steiermark – in den nächsten Monaten von der internationalen Konjunkturschwäche zunehmend gebremst werden. Die Bauwirtschaft und der Dienstleistungssektor entwickelten sich im I. Quartal 2012 weiterhin robust. In der Wintersaison 2011/12 wie auch zu Beginn der Sommersaison 2012 nahm die Tourismusnachfrage kräftig zu, insbesondere in Ostösterreich und Vorarlberg sowie im Segment der Gäste aus dem Nicht-EU-Ausland. Während die Beschäftigung in allen Bundesländern unverändert dynamisch wuchs, stieg die Zahl der Arbeitslosen in der ersten Jahreshälfte 2012 gegenüber dem Vergleichszeitraum 2011 in ganz Österreich, ausgenommen Vorarlberg, angebotsbedingt deutlich.
