Exploring Sustainable Careers: Insights From a Bibliometric Lens

Abstract

The shift from traditional to contemporary careers has given rise to the concept of sustainable careers. Despite growing research, a comprehensive overview and bibliometric analysis of the domain remains unexplored. To fill this critical gap, the study outlines the concept of sustainable careers, providing insight into the intellectual structure, and proposes future research directions for academicians and practitioners. The authors utilized the Vos Viewer and the Biblioshiny package from the R Studio software to conduct a performance analysis and science mapping of sustainable careers. 123 documents from the Scopus database using the SPAR‐4 Protocol have been extracted for this purpose. The findings include the identification of five major clusters, which help offer future research avenues. To the best of the researchers' knowledge, this is the first attempt to provide a bibliometric analysis of sustainable careers, highlighting meaningful and novel insights.
