Verbesserung der relativen Lohnstückkosten im Jahr 2022

Abstract

Im Jahr 2022 stiegen die Lohnstückkosten in der österreichischen Herstellung von Waren um 2,2% gegenüber dem Vorjahr. Dies impliziert eine deutliche Verbesserung der relativen Lohnstückkosten, sowohl gegenüber dem gewichteten Durchschnitt aller Handelspartner (–3,3 Prozentpunkte) als auch gegenüber den EU-Handelspartnern (–1,7 Prozentpunkte). Auch verglichen mit dem wichtigsten Handelspartner Deutschland verbesserten sich die relativen Lohnstückkosten (–1,4 Prozentpunkte). Getragen wird diese Entwicklung gegenüber den Handelspartnern durch einen schwächeren Anstieg der Arbeitskosten bei stärker steigender Produktivität. Unterstützend wirkte die günstige Wechselkursentwicklung. Bei der Interpretation der Ergebnisse sind bei langfristigen Vergleichen nach wie vor die länderspezifischen Unterschiede in den COVID-19-Hilfsmaßnahmen zu berücksichtigen. Die Daten für 2022 könnten zudem durch die international unterschiedlichen Herangehensweisen zur Abfederung der hohen Inflation verzerrt worden sein.
