Career satisfaction and professional commitment of special education teachers

Abstract

The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between career satisfaction and professional commitment of special education teachers. This study is a descriptive study where relational survey method is used. A total of 60 special education teachers working in special education centers in Cyprus participated in the research. Demographic information form, career satisfaction scale and professional commitment scale is used as data collection tools. The findings of the study show that there is a moderately positive correlation between career satisfaction and professional commitment of special education teachers. Findings obtained from the research is discussed with related literature and is given for further studies.
