Desregulación económica y flexibilización laboral. Una forma de reducir el costo laboral en México (2000-2008)

Abstract

El objetivo de esta investigación es analizar el proceso de flexibilización laboral que resulta de la desregulación económica que se da en México desde la década de los 80´s, ello a través de implementar una política económica que privilegia la liberalización de los mercados y la reestructuración del Estado, en tanto Estado empresarial (posfordismo), como una forma de reducir el costo laboral unitario y aumentar la productividad. Para abordar este fenómeno, se hace un recorrido teórico sobre la conceptualización del crecimiento económico y su regulación. Se describe la emergencia de la política de desregulación económica en el país y el proceso de flexibilización laboral asociado. Desde ese marco analítico, se deriva la hipótesis, que se contrasta empíricamente a través de un análisis econométrico. Los resultados obtenidos permiten validar la hipótesis, respecto a que la flexibilización laboral es una estrategia económica que permite reducir el costo laboral favoreciendo al capital. Al final se plantean algunas reflexiones.
