Abstract

[eng] Managing dependence : where are we now ? . This article tackles the issue of dependence in terms of the over-60 age group from a series of different angles. Questions surrounding the definition of dependence are first discussed and a working categorisation is developed. The article then focuses on dependence management in 2002-2003, following the introduction of the APA (l'aide personnalisée à l'autonomie - a government subsidy programme), which has led to significant changes in dependence management in recent years. Finally, the changing picture associated with the demographic outlook is examined. . . Classification JEL : H51, I1
