Türkiye''de Kız Ve Erkek Çocukların Okulda Erişimini Belirleyen Etkenler

Abstract

Bu incelemede, Türkiye’deki kız ve erkek çocukların okulda ulaştıkları noktayı belirleyen etkenler araştırılmaktadır. Her ne kadar, Türkiye’nin büyük bölümünde ilkokula kaydolan kız ve erkek çocukların sayısında yüksek düzeylere ulaşılmışsa da, bölgeler arasında önemli farklar bulunmaktadır. Özellikle Güneydoğu bölgesinde kızlar üçüncü sınıf dolayında okuldan ayrılmaktalar. Ağustos 1997 eğitim reformundan önce, ilkokul bitirenlerin sadece yarısıortaokula devam etmekteydi. Bu incelemenin amacı, ilkokul, ortaokul ve lise düzeyinde eğitimde erişimi belirleyen etkenleri araştırmaktır. Kızlarda erişimin göze çarpar düzeyde düşük olmasının nedenlerini aydınlatabilmek için kız ve erkelerde erişim ayrı ayrı incelenmektedir. Türk eğitiminde kız-erkek arasındaki büyük sayısal açıklığı doğuran kısıtlayıcı etkenleri ve genelde eğitim düzeylerindeki düşüklüğe ilişkin ortak değişkenleri kavramak, politika saptayanlara ve planlamacılara yardımcı olabilir.
